It serms that antiviruses today have only antifeatures. The last time i saw an antivirus detect malware was more than 10 years ago. Now the only protection against viruses is common sense, a good backup and another OS to recover what's left after the disaster strikes.

A friend that worked at an antivirus company told me they had a whole division whose task was to write viruses. This helped then to gain on competitors in the benchmarks "which antivirus detects more viruses"

There absolutely is, per the last comment in the thread: https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/14489#issu... However, that also means disabling protection against cryptominers and a host of other nasty stuff, so it's not really a great solution IMHO.

Yeah I wondered if that app can be whitelisted specifically (and not just by path but by threat name "PUA:Win32/qBittorent")

Windows is the dominant operating system, and as such has a giant target on its back. It's true, I despise Windows, but the risk of torrenting on Linux vs the risk of torrenting on Windows is quite a huge difference. I've had the opposite experience - Proton has been getting better and better - even more so if you like to play around with the Glorious Eggroll fork. Then again, I mostly play single player games that don't have anti-cheat. Once Valve gets anticheat working though, which they are actively working on, it's basically game over.

Unfortunately my favorite game right now, Vermintide 2, uses Easy Anti Cheat which does not work with Proton. I've had to set up a VM with pass-through to play it.
