What CDN are you using? I worked on a feature at Cloudflare that prevents this scenario and is on for all users.

Fastly have kindly sponsored us with free CDN service. They have a tiered caching feature called Shielding that ended up being our solution - it just needed turning on.

I see! I didn't mean tiered caching. I meant, if a thousand clients simultaneously request a cacheable resource from the same colo that lacks the resource, only one request should make it to your origin, and the response should be streamed to every client. This is possible in Fastly but IIRC it depends on what combination of http and https your client and origin connections are using.

You had decades to fix the faulty video drivers for X11.... Meanwhile they work on Wayland since day one.

Currently the lead developer (Jim) is the only paid developer, and he's able to work on the program full time thanks to a few large sponsorships. This makes me so sad. Thousands of streamers make millions of Euro from their great software and so few of them contribute back.

Twitch, who makes as much as the streamers, is a sponsor though.

Does Wayland do anything better than Xorg? Every time I see it mentioned, it is about how it does not support this or that core feature of Xorg (e.g multiple displays with custom pixel densities/scaling, screen sharing apps being broken, etc...). What is Wayland's reason for existing?

On X:

1. Implementing a screenlocker in a secure and working manner on X is impossible.

2. Screenlockers cannot be activated when there the context menu (or something similar) is open.

3. There is a lot of screen tearing, in particular in Firefox and Chromium on X scrolling is a joke.

4. Dual-DPI is a no.

5. Everything is in a shared buffer, so security is a joke.

On Wayland these things should be fixed.

Can we just get the 'color picker' option that exists on windows when you are using chrome/color key feature for 'green screen' effects?

Not having that on Linux when it exists on windows is frustrating.

Are there any existing plug-ins for virtual microphone? I want to use OBS'S realtime noise suppression and noise gating in another app (mainly online lecture platform Echo360). I got it working using VoiceMeeter in what seems like a hacky way, but only with high latency so far.
