Play more video games. I feel like this year I haven't had a chance to get lost in a great video game's narrative. Spent far too much time trying to be productive and not just taking a break to relax. Btw if anyone has any suggestions for games to play. Please share.

I enjoyed the main quest line in Genshin Impact. Besides being a beautiful open world all around, some of the story arcs left me in tears, which hadn't happened since the cutscene where Cyan said goodbyes to his family on the ghost train in FFVI.

Get my shit in order. I feel like a lot of the systems I had in place to keep me sane and getting shit done have sort of fallen into disrepair the last couple of years. I feel tired and disorganized and spend too much time on my phone. Maybe it's a knock-on effect of the covid situation with lockdowns and isolation or I dunno. My health and fitness isn't as great as it was, I'm procrastinating too much and find mysel…

i recommend exercise. I'm over 50, and often after work I'll feel totally drained. after some kind of physical activity - and food - I have energy well into the evening. 20 years ago, I didnt have to do this, but at my current age, this fixes it.

Im 34 and in the same boat. I try to hit the swimming pool 3 times a week at least, preferably during my “lunch hours” and it changes everything. Couldn’t go for the last 2 weeks and I feel like I’m 85. Not sure where it comes from.

Earlier quoted context omitted.

Yeah, this is a big part of what's fallen apart. I used to be quite a gym rat.

Yourself or others may find _it is exactly what has fallen apart_.

Exercise is magical, it gives you superpowers of focus and confidence that you can solve all problems. If everything is going wrong, it's the first place to check - are you exercising? If not, fix that. And maybe everything else goes away.

If you're looking for narrative experiences, Disco Elysium is likely the best video game story ever told - bar none. Maybe not the best story (although it's really good) but the intersection of presentation and prose is exceptional. One of the few times the medium has really surpassed raw text on the storytelling metric. Some of those narrative sequences will stay with me for the rest of my life.

I second Disco Elysium. Top 10 games if not 5 I ever played. Sad thing about the studio and the creators getting pushed out of the company.

Being tired all the time is not normal. If you wake up tired or frequently feel fatigued you should consider seeing a sleep professional and getting screened for sleep apnea.

I cut my podcast subscriptions down to the bone. Every night I go for a 3 mile walk and listen to a podcast. This year I want to go for walks and listen to my brain. Just the thought scares me.

Try walking without listening to your brain. Consider it walking meditation.

Crazy as it might sound, you can literally do this by listening to your feet!

To recover from long covid. It's been almost a year and it feels like I'm half way there, so I am optimistic about getting this over with in 2023.

Tip for anyone suffering from viral fatigue - I had a bad case a few years ago and it was only strength training that turned it round. That's as simple as learning to use the weight machines at the gym.
