At Ondaka we’re all about visual, industrial, intelligence. Our mission is to help our heavy industry & critical infrastructure customers access mission-critical information quickly and efficiently by building intensely visual data management tools and services that empower them.

Why Ondaka:

Our Bay area team (Berkeley, Cornell, Queen’s & Yale) is developing the next generation of industrial SaaS products that will help everyone from riggers and roughnecks to engineers and executives improve safety and increase profitability at critical infrastructure sites the world over. Using the techno magic of photogrammetry, our platform serves up hyper-realistic representations of sites and equipment as-built and layers them with contextually relevant information. If you’ve never gotten over your childhood love of big machines doing big jobs, but are mature enough to recognize the value that big data brings to this equation, you should drop what you’re doing right now and apply. Having a baby? Text us between contractions! We all have kids and we can help…PUSH! Interviewing for another job? Stand up and walk out, we’re better! Robbing a bank? Call the cops and turn yourself in, seriously what were you thinking?

What we're looking for:

Backend Developer (Node.js & MongoDB) (Onsite): https://angel.co/ondaka/jobs/427679-backend-developer-node-j...

iOS Developer (Onsite): https://angel.co/ondaka/jobs/427683-ios-developer

Computer Vision / Machine Learning Engineer (Onsite/Toronto/Remote): https://angel.co/ondaka/jobs/427693-computer-vision-machine-...

Expensify is the most widely used expense management system in the world, with millions of users and more customers than the rest of the industry combined, processing billions of real dollars annually. Expensify has ~130 employees, is self-managed (no VC control), is extremely profitable, and is working to buy back all shares to become 100% employee owned, intending to create liquidity through internal buyback programs and eventual dividends. As an equal member of the team:

  - You will receive a fair, proactive raise bi-annually, without you needing to ask.
  - You will have the option (not required) to travel with the team domestically and internationally multiple times a year -- spouses and kids welcome (and paid for).
  - You will be provided the best equipment, a personal mentor committed to your success, tools to encourage a healthy work/life balance, and a workplace that is safe, respectful, collaborative, and inspiring.
  - You will be truly welcome regardless of age, race, gender, orientation, or other affiliation.
Some of the cool things we're working on:

  - Concierge, a “supervised learning” AI-powered customer support platform

[1] What's the URL of your website? If you don't have one, why not?
[2] Tell us about what it is you do (programming, systems engineering, sales, etc.), when you started, and what you've done between then and now.
[3] What do you want to do with the rest of your life, and how is Expensify a step toward your long-term goals?
[4] How did you hear about us? A job posting? Chalk on a sidewalk? From a friend? Let us know where you saw this opening.
Please visit https://we.are.expensify.com, and we can’t wait to meet you soon!

Shopify | Production Engineer | Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal - Canada | https://www.shopify.ca

Shopify is the world’s fastest growing commerce platform, with no plans to slow down. We’re on a mission to scale our platform while simultaneously improving performance, reliability, and resiliency. To do this, we need the help of dedicated, methodical, and versatile developers!

The Service Communication team at Shopify is responsible for defining, coordinating and monitoring all service-to-service network communication at Shopify. As part of the larger Service Patterns group, we work with all Shopifolk to create and maintain a high-reliability network of services that make up the distributed application.

Only a few short years ago we had 20 services running all of Shopify and now we have well over 600. We expect that number to increase over the next few years as we add new features and scale our current service to more customers. Creating a resilient platform for service-to-service communication will give us the ability to move fast and not break things.

If you're into infrastructure & operations (call it Production Engineer, DevOps, whatever) this can be an awesome role. We're currently on Kubernetes with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and are exploring Istio as our service mesh (with Envoy Proxy as our sidecar). We're also building out client libraries in Ruby, Go and Python.
