To be fair, I think it is true that AI will help nerds (like me) implement their own clients. Without AI, I will think that "I could make my own client", I will spend some evenings and weekends proving that I can solve the problem, and then I will never spend the time I would need to actually make it usable. I've ran into this problem many times. I'm quite pleased that the AI can complete the 'last mile' on many of my old projects. I'm finally publishing my packages! Time will tell if they're any good but at least they're buildable, testable, lint-free, documented and installable now.
i've made maybe 20 personal LLM tools this year. 3 survived past the first week. not because the rest weren't useful, just wasn't willing to debug them when something broke.

The problem is the dependencies, getting hunspell installed and finding the dictionary files for example. I normally only get a new computer every few years and each time stuff like that is a new pain. And dont even start with treesitter, i cant compile anything on windows and always end up using prebuild dlls.
Are you using Cygwin? That's what I've used on Windows since it was available.
