I like to test my code, I like challenges. I haven't come up against one yet that I haven't been able to figure out. I love to learn and can be thrown in the deep end. I'm not that great at talking shop but I deliver.

I'm a strong developer with a lot of experience, especially with JS and Web technologies. I've worked everywhere from tiny startups up to huge megacorps and also run my own business before.

I currently work remote for IBM on the Watson team, doing mostly developer experience work (SDKs, demos, example code, etc.) + some internal tooling work to automate various processes.

The Watson group has a new manager that wants everyone to move to a small handful of cities, and I'm not in a good position to do that at the moment. I've requested an exception, but if that gets denied, then I'll be moving on to a new position.

There are a couple of other managers outside of the Watson group that want to hire me already, so there's not much chance that I'll actually be unemployed, but I thought this may be a good opportunity to look around and see what else is available.

Things I'm good at and enjoy doing:

* JavaScript: This is kind of my specialty - I've been writing AJAX-driven web apps since before jQuery even existed, and working with Node.js since v0.2.

* Developer Experience / API design and development: essentially UI and UX for developers :) I have a lot of experience here.

* Automation: I'm a big fan of Continuous Integration & Deployment, which essentially means I'm good at writing unit tests, integration tests, etc. I also like to automate business processes to speed things along.

* Open Source: I like doing Open Source work, and I believe that there is often significant value to be gained by releasing certain components of your codebase.

* IoT: I'm not really an expert here, but I've done a few projects with Arduino, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi, etc. and had a lot of fun.

If this sounds like it may be a good fit for your business, please get in touch. I might just be the purple unicorn that you've been looking for ;)
