It is advertised as a necessary evil; "everyone needs one for employment" I recently deleted my LinkedIn. It is just used to data mine information from you. I think the site is generally pretty useless, even without all the privacy concerns.
I deleted my LinkedIn account over a decade ago because I couldn't tolerate the spam. Doing that had zero effect on my career or ability to find good jobs.

#31Same here - I was using one mail address only for linkedin, which wasn't listed on the page. One day I started receiving 3rd party spam on that address - which means linkedin sold the address, despite them claiming not to do that, or they had a data leak, which they also claimed they didn't have.
