Reflect's website banner announces $6.5 million seed round led by Sequoia. A few comments here claim to have run the numbers. With negative results. How do seed rounds with name-brand VC work? Please tell me an independent party would have been paid to do due diligence on the feasibility of the approach. Or is this perhaps an investment in the team with an openness to pivot.

#33I’m curious to know the effects of beaming additional solar energy to Earth on climate change. I can’t imagine it’d be good.
One important thing to note is that the climate change is not caused by the heat we released into the atmosphere. It's due to the change in the power equilibrium of the Earth caused by the greenhouse gases we released.

Honestly, I don't think you need the /s. The satellites are dumb and would have a negligible effect. But if you want to offset the heat just to be on the right side, some mirrors or simply white surfaces on the ground could do the job.
