Am I the only one who finds that this doesn't actually match reality? Caffeine gives me energy/awakeness and I don't find that I am "paying" for it later. Maybe (to keep torturing this dubious analogy) it's a negative interest rate, so in other words, I'm paying for it later, but it's not noticeable compared to the benefits of caffeine?
Coffee does not give you energy, it just borrows what you will pay for later

Only if you overdo it on the booze I think. 1 or 2 is enough to give me a light buzz with no hangover/regret.
Good for you but there's a lot of us out there who need a bit more. It'd been nice to have a less harmful substitute a la vaping replacing smoking. Coincidentally, I had some ativan the other day for a dental procedure and the after effect was near ideal. Too bad it can't be taken so lightly.
I hear "gummies" are a good alternative. I think that's a different kind of feeling but I wouldn't know.

However, the role of MDMA in these effects is unclear, as other factors associated with a night out, such as alcohol consumption, sleep deprivation and disturbance of circadian rhythms, and poor nutrition and hydration, can be major contributors.
In contrast, only a small minority of people taking pure, measured doses of lab-grade MDMA in the daytime report experiencing negative physiological and psychological symptoms in the three to five days post-drug."

That PDF has sources for these statements. They match with my own experience micro-/minidosing MDMA. I never had any post use blues.

"In the days immediately following MDMA use, many users report experiencing negative after-effects, such as low mood and anxiety, sleep disturbances, or memory problems, known colloquially as the ‘comedown’ or ‘mid-week-blues’. However, the role of MDMA in these effects is unclear, as other factors associated with a night out, such as alcohol consumption, sleep deprivation and disturbance of circadian rhythms, and po…
