Regardless of the ability of people to travel to the UK or Canada and get here (which people have done for a long time with other nations we don't take kindly to) it's absolutely going to reduce the number of people who will travel across the pond. The situation in Europe will be much worse a month from now than it is today, unfortunately. I'd bet on this ban lasting closer to 90 days than 30.

Seems like this is too little too late, cats already out of the bag in the US.

Even if it is closed people can still cross easily from the southern border, there is no way to hermetically closing everything, you can only slow things down a bit and control the pace. Turns out that controlling the borders is not such an insane and "racist" idea, but that's also a bit too late.

I see in some places it says this includes cargo / shipping. Is that true?

Watched the broadcast live, yes it includes cargo shipments. Something tells me the markets are going to react badly to that one

yea I'm guessing the market will be all red again tomorrow.

Ports are basically already at a standstill.

I personally feel this policy will get altered as the markets tank further.
