Sure, it's awkward to offer a phone number to a stranger or even a friend in crisis, but imagine how things could be if that wasn't the case.

#35The common response is that "people will just find another way" but that's not supported by evidence.

It's not a perfect correlation, but to my untrained eye, looking at both maps, it seems to me that red (eg, Republican) states appear to correlate closely with higher suicide states. The graph is only showing changes in suicide rates. Perhaps Nevada's was already high?
I dug up some stats and Nevada is pretty high on the list.
