Sublime fans and VSC fans are almost disjoint sets...

VS Code is one of the most organised/well-run open source projects that I know. Just take a look at their updates ie. (https://code.visualstudio.com/updates/v1_11). I'm just as excited to read the updates as I am to try each new release.

It's a bit unfair to compare a well-backed enterprise team to a small one (with 2-3 devs?), but it sure does make for an awesome user experience for developers.

I think it's much better than the previous one, but I've always replaced the icon for that with this anyway: https://dribbble.com/shots/1836652-Final-Round-Sublime-Icon

I think I'll leave the new one in place for a while and see whether it grows on me.

It's amazing how people still don't want to pay for software.

You can still 'pay' for free open source software, many projects accept donations. You can also donate your time by contributing to projects.

You can always help pay to keep an open source project running. The same thing is a lot more difficult with closed source software once its been abandoned.

I don't mind paying for software as long as it respects my four freedoms.

Xi is cool technology, but it's still very far from being a editor for work.
