I found that lobste.rs had a much narrower range of views on every topic. And the intolerance of other views is presented far less eloquently than here. People just get hard downvoted or banned. Not just the obvious political ones but technical views too: dynamic typing is rubbish, cryptocurrency is rubbish, etc
Or perhaps the community has less tolerance for someone who trolls and runs from challenges before providing any support for their opinions, and your broken behavior has led to a unrepresentative perspective. My analysis was excellent, thank you very much. I don't run from challenges, I just don't want to derail threads with endless back-and-forth arguments too much. I think generally once two people have said their bit, back-and-forth discussion tends to focus on minor rabbit-hole manner-and-form disagreements rather than anything substantive.
And yes for the record, I stand by the comment I made with the provisos that (1) anything I say is based on what information I have at the time, which might change, (2) opinions and philosophies change over time as well, and (3) nothing I have seen so far has changed my mind on that point.

HN has always been a curated/moderated site. I'm not really sure what "censor" means other than that, at least in the context of an internet forum like HN. We basically moderate posts that break the site guidelines (the ones that we see, at least). Is there a particular post that you feel was censored that should not have been? I'd be interested to take a look.

No, you're just evading responsibility which, unfortunately, is typical of the tech sector these days.
Maybe you can talk a little bit about how your ideal HN would work, or look like or be moderated like? What sort of stories and comments would it have? How would it be different from the current one? It's hard to tell what you're actually arguing for given that most of your output seems to be directed at some windmill of your own construction.

As I've said, if the capabilities of a user's account are deliberately reduced then report that to the user on their account page. That's being upfront as opposed to being secretive and squirrelly and dodging responsibility.
