It's probably best not to declare war upon China in writing. Instead, ask how many students died in the 1989 Tiananmen massacre. This episode makes me thing that in addition to "lost" mode you should be able to set your phone to "brick" mode when you know you have no chance at getting it back so the phone itself is becomes nonfunctional and your data can never be accessed.
