Ehhh, afaik thats not the case in the community. These hypervisor bypasses are considered a different category. Like look at any scene page, they will 100% say Hypervisor or HV for these.

Last scene release with Denuvo crack was like 6 years ago.

Not true, in this year alone there have already been around 10 denuvo cracks (not hypervisor bypasses) and more will come.

Denuvo is sold as a subscription to developers, and it is often removed 6–12 months after release.

>often removed 6–12 months after release that's not true. Only denuvo after ~2020 is subscription based and the contracts usually are between 2-4 years.

- Devil May Cry 5: released March 2019, Denuvo removed February 2020

- Forspoken: released January 2023, Denuvo removed July 2023

- Final Fantasy XVI: released September 2024, Denuvo removed March 2024

- Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster: released September 2024, Denuvo removed September 2025

These are just a few examples, there are many more. I can't say whether it was removed because the contract ran out or another reason, but, as I said, Denuvo demonstrably is often removed 6–12 months after PC release.

Does the stealing come from the low-trust society, or does the societal situation drive people to theft, which we then label ‘low-trust’?

If there are extremely poor, high-trust societies, then trust is its own variable. If not, then it's a post-hoc explanation.

I suspect it's an imperfect correlation. Other factors like level of income inequality, efficacy/harshness of law enforcement, societal cohesion, would likely influence.

thus is not truely DRM free. I love steam but even if it can barely be called a DRM, it still is. People not into computer science will have no clue how to do it, and that's what matters when talking about owning your own games, you should not require knowledge to keep something you paid for

"Not into computer science" lol. I knew how to copy a damn crack at 13 years or whatever and a barely figured out windows by that time. You act like people are stupid. Sure there are some console gamers who only use their phone for social media and are clueless about computers in 2026, but most people know how to copy some damn files over. They do not need to be in "computer science".

tech aware, i don't care how you call them, english is not my first language that's just the term I came up with on the spot. Non-tech aware people will not know about the steam emulators

Also that's the point. You purchased something you should not have to crack it to keep it.

All I'm saying is that it's an imperfect but reliable workaround for archiving your games. What other choice do you have if the game is only available on Steam? Of course in an ideal world it would be available in a true DRM-free installer but in the real world you'll always need to reach for messy workarounds that just work. This is one of them and most people probably don't know that it exists.

yeah I do agree with you, it's just unfortunate that that's the world we live in

"Soviet was not real communism because bla bla" The best is when you guys say you want to be like Scandinavia. None of us are communist, we are a market economy like you.

Honestly, this forum expects you to differentiate between socialism, communism, and the Soviet Union. Whatever your views might be.

Yes, that is what I mean.

The issue with communism is if it never happened for real you can imagine all sorts of good amazing things from it with 0 pushback. Look atleast at the states calming to be communist. Would you rather live in Soviet or Western Europe? Ask the balts and poles...

btw Sweden is not socialist

communism means taking everything from regular people to give to the elite.

Source? Or are you merely arguing that it means that in practice ? I‘m sure if people want communism, they want the idealistic version.

Funnily enough capitalism is trying to do the exact same thing! I guess communism was more efficient at doing it! (bit tongue in cheek of course - I guess capitalism is better at pretending/leaving enough scraps for the masses so they don't notice as much)

Capitalism is just really good at telling people the reason they are poor is because they just don't work as hard as the elites
