If it gets to write those damn SQL queries for us, now that is a big leap for humanity.

Not sure this will be any different than human-generated spreadsheets, to be honest.

The integration mentions working with Microsoft Graph API, and it’s doing the generation on the client, so seems plausible this has no more access than any other OAuth app. The Graph API can be locked down with Access Policies. I’m sure there will be features to further cordon off data to the AI, similar to how OneDrive has an encrypted vault which is not accessible from the Graph API.

OneDrive for Business does not have an encrypted vault (though the files are stored encrypted at rest/in transit).

As far as 'no more access than', OAuth apps can have full control over your tenant and all data.

I'm more upset about sticking with the terrible name "365" to refer to what I'll always think of as MS Office. Leave it to corporate branding by committee to seriously accept naming a productivity suite after something as inherently ambiguous and insipid as the (rounded) number of days in a year.

I wonder with this what would happen to BI industry, particularly to BI/Analytics startups like ThoughtSpot ("ThoughtSpot is the AI-Powered Analytics platform that empowers everyone to ask any data questions in natural language")
