Watching the Apple event brings up a question for me. I know nothing about sign language. They have to make new words for different technical fields as new words and technologies get created. I am curious to know how difficult it is to come up with a new sign, is there enough "entropy" for it? I also wonder what the process is. How does one agree upon the sign for a word and how it's codified and disseminated?

I have an iPhone 12 mini, and sometimes when I drag down to enter the search field, it feels like I'm waiting for an HDD to spin up (stuck for a second or two). It's probably not a hack, but just the towering complexity of all the different software systems developed under tight deadlines.
Weird. I have a 6S, and I haven't noticed and performance issues.

It sounded strange to me when they called it modular but to me it seems they call it modular for not including a display.

I stand corrected. 1600$ for a 2014 LCD monitor remains fucking outrageous.
How much would a monitor with comparable pixel density and resolution have cost in 2014? Asking because I truly do not know.
The high-end camera, array of microphones, and speakers are worth at least a couple hundred bucks — especially for remote workers.
The connectivity is also pretty nice, and didn't exist back then.
I don't know how the overall value stacks up, but I was pleasantly surprised the price was this low. I was expecting $2,000 to $2500 after hearing the specs. I'm still not buying one, but I am about to email my wife to ask her company if they can cancel the order they just put in for a $900 not-very-impressive monitor and get her one of these instead.
Kills the need for a dock, kills the need for a separate power brick at the office, and makes videoconferencing much better (I don't think she'd thought about how she would do a video call if her camera is on her laptop and her big monitor is off to the side).

Can someone explain to me why unlocking with FaceID requires you to swipe up? Pressing the power button and having my face visible seems like a good signal to let me start interacting with icons. That, to me, was the FaceID downgrade. It's still easy to unlock when you pull it out of your pocket, it's just annoying that you have to shift your grip downwards to swipe up. I often want to look at the lock screen, perhaps to tell the time or to read / interact with a notification, or to swipe from the left to interact with the widgets.
Quite a lot of my phone usage is like this: recency based (driven by notifications) and/or not wanting to open the phone and then search for the app I want, launch it, get to the right screen and blah blah. Much lower overhead to get the job done.
I don't tend to open my phone and doom scroll when I have a moment. I understand that's the major use case for most people, and for them perhaps your model would be appropriate.

It's pretty great, except for battery life, which is really annoying. It's the only reason I wouldn't buy another SE when mine breaks.
Remove apps you don't use. Turn off any system location data settings you don't need. Don't use high brightness on the display. Turn off cellular data for any apps that don't need it. Don't have email set to check on a fixed interval. Keep an eye on app battery usage and stop using apps that use significant amounts in the background. If your area has weak cellular, get a microcell or turn off cellular data at home using an automation.

A wide stance implies surefootedness and confidence. They are absolutely coached to appear the most certain they can when marketing/communicating statistics.
I would wager there is a coach (or several) communicating with each live presenter via an earpiece.
Certainly a lot of full rehearsals.
