Apparently they guarantee three years on the flagship Galaxy S/Note models and there’s no similar guarantee on any of the cheaper models. It sounds like they’ve gotten better at it with the flagships than the last time I used a Samsung (back in the S4 days).

Replace !g with !s to get Startpage results, which is basically proxied Google results. Although I would advise just not relying on Google at all. The perception is that it's better, but in recent years I've found Google results to be total trash.

Yeah, definitely, I'll try to replace !g with !s in the future. It is my intention to replace whatever google services I can. But admittedly, since this change is mostly motivated by personal ethics and a desire not to give away my private info (as opposed to issues with the platforms themselves, in terms of functionality), it is a bit rough to adjust to some changes.

I'm glad you like it! If you have any issues with it, I encourage people to come open a ticket explaining what is wrong. Sometimes I screw up and block things that shouldn't be - other times I have reasons why I blocked something and the ticket provides a good place to have a that discussion. Feedback from the community is great help to me in improving the lists.

An alternative possibility is that the original site doesn't have a non-amp alternative, so no original link is included.

Use the Apollo app. Much better than the official Reddit app. It's more like what Alien Blue was before Reddit killed that.

Unfortunately no. But there's an "Open in Apollo" option from the share sheet which works for me. It's just an extra tap to open the share sheet from the AMP page.

Been Firefox user out of conviction for 10+ years, made the switch to DuckDuckGo as my main search engine with about a year ago, no regrets. But Gmail? It's sticky.

I have so much stuff tied to my email account and it just sucks looking for alternatives. I'd even happily pay. The main difficulty is finding a service that's as mature, feature-wise, as Gmail and a sensible way to migrate all my stuff (email-logins for major websites, informing clients of the new address, etc).

I think the best compromise is using two accounts for a couple of years, heavily focusing on the non-Gmail one and dropping Gmail once you had no interaction with it for a while. But all the obvious alternatives people post don't quite cut it for me, I've been searching for ages.

It doesn't. The way client certs are useful is that a website that only uses client certs for authenticating clients removes the ability for the client's credentials to be leaked.

Even if the user uses the client cert with a phishing site, the phishing site doesn't have the ability to impersonate the user against the real site because the private key is still on the client's device.

In addition, if a browser is configured to automatically use a client cert for all requests to a particular domain, then even that leak doesn't happen because the browser would automatically not use the cert with the phishing domain.

Ditto, for all the good reasons to use DDG, AMP is what retrained me into searching DDG first. Each time I landed on an AMP page it was a reminder to change my default search engine on that browser/device.
