Reason Apple make upgrades impossible is so they can charge ridiculous prices for their built in upgrades. the new mac has a 4TB SSD option for £2800. You can buy a 4TB top of the range samsung SSD for £800. £2000 profit is a good motivation for sticking stuff down.

Upgrade the RAM at the start of a new spec and you'll be fine. CPU/mobo go hand in hand, but you're rarely going to need to upgrade that anyway.

I dont get really this.. I have a stock air-cooled asus GTX 970, and for almost all use cases on my PC it is completely silent. The fans only turn on when the card temp goes over a certain value.
