Per-byte lookup is the killer. Finding each byte individually in π would take longer than the universe's age.

Copyright defense with 'it's just digits of pi' is the funniest part. If Disney sues you over a few trillion digits that were always there, we've got bigger problems.

Moore's Law as the excuse for terrible performance is a classic programmer cop-out. Just wait a few years and your pi lookup will be blazing fast, trust me.
