This looks interesting. Anything similar for FreeCAD?

I've been using it with OpenSCAD, which has the advantage of being entirely script-generated and so more easily understandable by AI.

I thought agents were bad at OpenSCAD

Maybe it is a pointless fight with an inevitable end but at least I'll die with my humanity and dignity intact rather than being a boot licker for Sam Altman, but you do you.

You can die with your humanity at a farm growing veggies and being surrounded by people you love and still be consistent with that I write. Seeing the inevitable does not equal loving or wanting it.

I think you missed my point completely - I am not attacking Blender, I'm attacking the Anthropic. You think Dario woke up this morning and just felt like doing charity? Or do you think there's an underlying business reason for getting into this space? If you believe they're doing it because they're lovely people I'm afraid we'll disagree about that.

Yes you most certainly are attacking Blender, accusing Blender developers of being in on a conspiracy of checking in code to Blender that sends data to Anthropic. And your conspiracy theory about the Blender developers selling out to Anthropic and secretly checking in code (that anyone can see since it's public) that sends data to Anthropic is objectively idiotic. Unity donated a lot of money to Blender too. Do you h…

they can though https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/modeling/geometry_...

I think you missed my point - up until Anthropic decides there's a pressing need to replace them to furnish their wallets, the awesome people who create incredible art using Blender have learned how to use the tool and use it to convert their imagination into something we can all see.

it’s not that your point is being missed. it’s that some people don’t agree with you, and the personal attacks aren’t helping

This is like arguing we should only have manual looms because the mechanical looms suppress wages and destroy the livelihoods of those expert loom operators. The tech is here. We can fight it, or adapt and embrace it. If previous examples from the industrial revolution are anything to go by, fighting automation is a losing battle.

Difference is that those tools modernised the work and actually created jobs. The ultimate aim of these AI sociopaths is to remove all work in all areas so they can hoover up all the money and let people starve.

That is not possible because that's not how money works. One way you can tell it's not possible is that it's the plot of Atlas Shrugged.

I would probably consider books to be a form of art. Art is very varied, its not just paintings or photographs. Video games can be art, music can be art (artists!), an eloquent dance can be art.

Do you consider reading a book and remembering what you read to be a form of stealing? How about writing a book review?

They didn't enter in any obligations. It's a donation.

already works well enough for a few projects for me in OpenSCAD.

How far can your LLM go with OpenSCAD?

Tbh, I am unsure. The things I needed were extremely simple and I could have used TinkerCAD or freeCAD, but I wanted to experiment. It was actually way faster with ChatGPT/OpenSCAD as I wanted to be able to hot swap SVG's to create different shaped tokens to print on my Bambu P1S with AMS.

Weird attitude when 3D artists LOVE AI powered denoising and upscaling. Praying for the day AI makes it so I never have to UV unwrap a mesh again.

Yes, Claude is the AI doing my denoising. I keep running out of tokens with my 4k renders. AI is a nebulous term. AI denoisers are not the same thing as an LLM or image gen model, the ire is directed at LLMs and not AI denoisers because they are completely different things.

Stable Diffusion started it's life as a denoiser.

Did you really create a 3d model if you didn’t hand type all of the vertex coordinates? Anything less is cheating by using cheating tools and isn’t art. Oh you had to use a deform tool? Pathetic. Can’t calculate your own circle approximations at various details? Good. If you can’t do it, it shouldn’t happen. Honestly these people are just so weird.

Why did you create an imaginary person in your head just to get mad at them?

It's all the same gate keeping bullshit of people who are afraid of losing their edge to the average person. It's been played out over and over again every single time there is an innovation that lowers the barrier to entry to a field. Adapt or perish. It's never been any different.
