I own the 50" Seiki and I use it as a desktop monitor. I need to modify my desk so I can move it further back but I'm getting used to the size. The lag due to 30hZ is a big drawback, my mousing accuracy is noticeably lower, but I can live with that. What I cannot live with is the fact that the monitor goes blank and then re-detects the HDMI signal all the time -- perhaps 25 times in the first few minutes and then onc…
Is this a driver problem of a QA issue? I've been using 3 very cheap Korean IPS's for over a year now. Play rough with them and they break. Annoying, but acceptable knowing that I was saving a lot of money, getting the best image I'd ever had, and I'd be replacing them in 24 months anyways.
It could be a component that is used by other 4k monitors, but it really seems specific to this Seiki (in varying sizes), as they have released a firmware update that is supposed to help.
