That's one (Marxist) definition of it, but the movement is much broader and more varied than that.

What else could it mean? There are anarcho- and democratic socialists, sure, but their end goal is still workers owning the means of production.

The other advantage here is that it's really easy to tell at a glance if one of these "shortened" links authentically points to a real government website; just answer: does it start with nyc.gov?

Mamdani is the mayor of the largest city by far. Of course he has the most visibility of all the mayors.

I never heard of Eric Adams doing anything, ever. I couldn’t name the mayor between Adams and Giuliani. And I only know Adams because he was corrupt beyond belief. Mamdani is an outlier in how much positive attention he garners, even considering he’s mayor of NY.

This line of thought bugs me. We use labels for a reason. Socialism has a well accepted definition and has for decades. We haven't modified it's meaning. Right, the argument is "He is a socialist so when he gets power he will do X which I dislike". But now he is in power so the argument is moot. Instead, you have to list actions by him you dislike.

HIPAA regulates covered entities and their business associates. It does not automatically regulate anyone who asks for or receives health care information.
