This is really simple to explain: Apple does not let you restrict app network access[1] You have no ability to know who your app is connecting to, and you cannot select or prevent it. [1] except maybe the cellular data toggle

The only way Im aware of is if you do it thru Settings > Cellular and always use data for internet on your phone

My understanding was that it's very difficult to reliably fingerprint iOS devices. Apple limits access to identifiers and specifically disallows fingerprinting. For this application of tracking people, you'd need decent reliability or you'd just get noise.

And no, I don't have any Meta published apps on my phone for exactly the reason you outline. I'm very aware of how IDFV and IDFA work.

The apathy of majority of common users who are both unawares and unperturbed speaks volumes in this regards. Unfortunately, there seems to be very narrow means to educate people even when the regulatory constantly beefs up efforts. The big tech grows stronger with every link clicks or digital engagement.
