It is funny. Well-socialized person doesn't need this kind of guide, as unwritten rules of social play are learned in the process of growing-up. But it is clear for "nerds" and "hackers" social is impenetrable, thus preference for interacting with the machine and towards techno-solutionism. School, workplace, sports club, but yes, family as well.
Children learn how to influence their parents to get what the want, which parent they should put pressure on, which parent should be first to be told about some issue etc.
We don't call it politics as it is just a natural thing, but the principle is the same.
