Lots of anti AI narrative in the news lately. Not to be cynical but I'd hate to suspect it partially has to do with it threatening their business model.
We have a hardware company pretending that just adding more TOPS is going to get us to AGI.
We have AGI benchmarks that don't even test for AGI (how can you be 50% AGI...)
At some point it has to deliver insane value, and that point is soon because the numbers aren't adding up. People are realizing it's good at like 30 of the 3000 things its proposed to do.
