I use Syncthing/Nextcloud to sync the notes to my phone where I use another markdown editor. It works pretty well.

Me too. I use Markor (Android) which also supports the internal links created by Obsidian.

It’s almost a meme at this point for all these latest and greatest note taking tools to forget mobile exists.

https://gitjournal.io is one I'm using for mobile Markdown notes, synced via GitHub. Open Source. Not exactly Obsidian Mobile, but should be close enough. The dev is tracking Obsidian compat issues: https://github.com/GitJournal/GitJournal/issues?q=is%3Aissue...

This looks like a perfect fit for my use case, just downloaded it! I'm using Foam instead of Obsidian but it looks like the GitJournal author is also targeting Foam support.

It’s almost a meme at this point for all these latest and greatest note taking tools to forget mobile exists.

Obsidian kind of gets a pass since you can sync a directory of markdown files to anything and editors are available for iOS/android. Not idea, but not going to stop you from getting ideas down into text.
