That quote that you posted is from Gruber. Gruber chose to include that in his blog post to say that this app is so good that it keeps people, including Pierce, from switching to Android. I was obviously fully aware that he paraphrased somebody else to include as evidence to support his claim. Pierce, on the other hand, was speaking only for himself.

Maybe our attention is being farmed? I have a friend who does astrology readings for a living and was curious why the app store doesn't allow astrology apps, a quick search revealed astrology apps exist on the app store so that's a red herring.

They simply do not allow new astrology apps. They consider the market segment saturated.

Oh but mine will be tron/blade runner themed, the market needs more diversity, the insensative clauds!

I dunno.

Fender USA and Squier Jaguars and lots of pedals are for ppl in original bands.

But the money is in Custom Shop Gibson, Fender and PRS, which are for ppl in the older generations playing mostly in 70s cover bands, or just hanging it in the wall to occasionally play Smoke on the Water. TheGearPage has become a very influential force in the industry almost like HN has.

I've only changed "redactions" into "updates / retractions" as that was a typo. Please take a look at https://www.nytimes.com/international/section/corrections for a small selection of what slips through fact checking on a well established and reputable newspaper.

I don't doubt that massive organizations make a lot of errors.

I don't think it makes your point, tho. The question is error per volume.

I seriously doubt Gruber does the same amount of fact checking as a serious publication. And that was my point above.

But I could be wrong - if you actually know I'd love the answer.

Think about all of the cases that don't come out. Everyone hates AI, yet everyone is using AI. I refuse to believe nearly 100% of game developers aren't using AI, but how many put the tag of shame on the Steam store page? It's a very strange situation.

Once more, Gruber is the one who claimed that the app kept people from switching to Android by paraphrasing (not quoting) Pierce. Pierce spoke only for himself. You are trying to pick a nit that doesn't exist.
