Attractive men DON'T have to deal with the same kind of shit, in general, because they are not a minority. They are not in a minority with social precedents to keep them down, which is what this article is all about. Institutionalized sexualization of women through teasing and joking is pretty common. This piece is trying to get you to where you try to understand what it's like. Most of us have wondered if our bulge…
You are obviously not an attractive male. I've had to put up with quite a lot from women of all kinds and I'm not even that attractive. I'm not going to say more, since I will get called a pussy and a bitch. But lets please stop pretending that only men are perverts and that all sexual discrimination and indecent behavior towards other people comes from men.

That's not exactly mens fault though. It is the fault of whomever creates the one in four women will be raped statistic (which is clearly bullshit). For any females reading this, while plenty of males will want to get into your pants very few males can stomach the idea of rape, so if you feel threatened seek other males. It doesn't matter much if you know them or not.
That's not exactly mens fault though. It is the fault of whomever creates the one in four women will be raped statistic (which is clearly bullshit). The 1/4 number in the USA that's usually quoted is for rape and attempted rape. For an explanation of where the 1/4 number came from in the US - read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_statistics#United_States . I'd be interested in which part of the methodologies of the…

My general impression is that women will receive comments from other women that are generally different to the comments from men. And while these female-to-female comments may not be sexual per se they are not always going to be 100% positive when a women is trying to do something non-traditional. Basically some other women will often be just as discouraging and as sexist as some men. They will reinforce the same str…
> They will reinforce the same strict gender stereotypes What if they are just voicing their opinions?!? I had a girlfriend that was very "stereotypical" - I practically had to beg her after every meal no to go to the kitchen to clean up, but to stay with me at the table and just talk and relax. Is she wrong by being who she is, just because she is "reinforcing illogical stereotypes"? People are different. Be yoursel…
Your girlfriend was probably quite satisfied with a kitchen that had been promptly cleaned and that made her happy. However if she ever voiced the opinion, 'You should help me clean up', to your younger sister then that wouldn't seem okay to me.

#154OP could make his statement much stronger if he wrote the whole piece from perspective of bit asexual straight man working in environment dominated by gay men who would introduce in daily worklife all kinds of innuendos often forgetting that protagonist is not interested in them and also not very interested in sexual layer of human interaction. I think the innate homophoby of the readers could help them to better und…
The trick in pulling this article off is you can go too far with your stereotypes and "artistic license" - actually offending the people you're trying to defend. And I've worked there - in a place where gay men outnumbered the men. I've been cornered - shoved in between two refrigerators while a guy who outweighed me by 50 pounds leaned against me and went for my bits - all the while telling me "it's time to come out…
For once I would like to be assaulted by a good looking person.

#155Why do people think women should be treated exactly the same as men? Soon as people realise biology makes the sexs different we can use this knowledge to our advantage. Women are better than men in ways and men are better than women in ways. In any environment you need to know the strengths and weaknesses of your team to know exactly how to make it run at its full potential.
I'm over girls complaining about being discriminated against. If you don't like the pay or the environment you work in leave! You have a choice. It's exactly like watching a bad tv show. There is no point going on twitter or your blog saying how bad it is. You've just given the show 1 viewer plus free marketing. The only way to get the show cancelled is to stop watching. The point I'm trying to make is. Stop trying to make me feel bad for you because I don't. Leave your job until you find one you like with no discrimination and if all the girls who felt discriminated against did this there would be no discrimination.
I get discriminated against because of my age. I'm 26 and for the last couple of years I've been a senior developer. It's hard for me to get a job because people think I'm too young for the position. When in fact I've spent more time coding then a 30 year old. Hirers don't count hours after 5pm aparently. I can tell you what I didn't do. I didn't write a blog having a cry over it.
One last thing, most of the girls I've meet over the years always say they want to be treated like men. But why do they get so happy when you open a door for them? No chick has ever opened my door. It just seems like they want the best of both worlds.
