Hello, my name is Piotr. I'm 26 and I just graduated with a master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Warsaw (MIMUW faculty). During university I worked as an intern/junior for 5 different companies ranging from small software house to a big-tech Meta/Facebook. I worked as a Production Engineer Intern at Meta and received a full-time offer (I rejected it).

I specialize in distributed systems, networking, operating systems, and web development. For my master's thesis, I implemented MinIO object storage into the complex system with multiple services and databases.

I have a strong understanding of algorithms and data structures. For 8 years I was involved in coding competitions as a participant, organizer and tutor.

Now I want to get my hands dirty as a software engineer :)

Location: Los Angeles, CA, USA

Remote: Prefer remote, open to onsite

Relocate: Unlikely but let's talk!

Technologies: Rails, React, Postgres, Heroku, Terraform, Scala, AWS, Javascript, Typescript

Ehh ~15 years in startups, wearing lots of different hats, but mostly some flavor of full stack web developer, including devops and data engineering. I've also done some management (although I'm aiming for the "Staff Engineer" track), customer-facing engineering ("solution architect"), and a wee bit of embedded / on-device work. I pick up new stuff pretty quickly when there's a problem in front of me, and I'm that rare extrovert engineer, so bring on the social parts of the job!

My career has two pillars: internal engineering, and customer-facing engineering. When I'm doing internal engineering, I focus on high-quality foundational work that then makes it super easy to iterate the product. When I'm doing customer-facing stuff (B2B), I'm deploying the company's technology to solve the client's problems.

For the last few jobs, my bosses have been telling me I'm ready to be a CTO, so if you're looking for a technical cofounder... let's chat!

PS - my Rubyconf 2023 lightning talk: https://youtu.be/tNcfYLuQ5Es?t=4265 and my Rubyconf 2021 talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgWAWwF6pNY

PPS - If you're making some science fiction into something real, I definitely want to talk to you.

My name is Damian and I'm junior web developer with no prior commercial experience. I've been learning programming for over half year now, after transitioning form architectural industry. My preference is back-end job but I'm happy with doing full-stack too. You can check out my projects either on GitHub, LinkedIn or my portfolio page.

I'm a full-stack software engineer with 5 years of experience at startups and midsize companies working on a wide variety of products in the B2B/B2C space. Open to both frontend and fullstack and to contract roles as well potentially. Prefer a role with that touches on the frontend at least somewhat but also open to primarily backend ones too.

Contract, part-time employment

Location: Africa or REMOTE

Remote: yes

Willing to relocate: yes, to any location in Africa, where i can get the necessary permission to live and work.

Technologies: Linux, Fullstack, System Administration.

Résumé/CV: on request (software development, CTO, mentoring, training, fluent in English and German)

Contact: Email: see profile or http://codingforafrica.at/

Like this Ask HN: Recommend employers with positive social impact [https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31518945], I am looking for similar work. I am a European software developer who has lived and worked on four continents. Now it's time to move on and so i am in the process to relocate to Africa.

While i could find a job elsewhere i believe that the experience living in an area where my work is going to have an impact gives me a better understanding of the needs of the location i am serving. Whether it is through direct contact with clients and users or just by being part of a local community and learning about the reality of living there.

I have more than a decade of experience running a company, doing software development, support and training and mentoring adults and students, as well as working on educational projects, and i am willing to take on a mixture of roles as needed to support a project.

I am also open to work for a company anywhere as long as the work can be done fully remote from Africa.

In addition, i want to use part of my income to hire local interns and junior developers and train them in order to pass on my experience. If you want to support this, i would love to work with you. Also if you are interested in hiring African developers yourself.
