If you're not managing your files and editing your text in the terminal, ...you're a Windows user. PS: Chromebook's terminal emulator is top notch, even supports animated gifs and wallpapers.

May be its a user preference, I just put out options as 'Choice' is the crux of Linux ecosystem.
My big takeaway is I didn't wait long enough when I bought my GPD Win. Amazing device. Bad battery life. Battery died wayyy before its time too. Eventually took to random crashing. When I travel for work again, I will be looking at whatever the latest one of these is.
How about a slightly different approach? I just use a tablet --- supplemented by a compact foldable bluetooth keyboard with touchpad as needed ($30 on Amazon).
If you have a solution, I'm all ears. Otherwise, the dream of running my full work stack on a mobile device other than a desktop OS remains a pipe dream.
I'd rather just have a good linux phone than have to carry around a phone and PC separately. n900, ye will be missed

The OneMix ones have a capacitive trackpoint that's not as good (-> it works like a tiny trackpad area), but they also have touchscreens.
IMO the newer GPD Win ones are probably the best implementation of mousing on a small devices. You have all the options: A touchscreen, A small trackpad, and A joystick that has a mouse mode which behaves like a trackpoint.
