You're not disconnected from humanity. You can still call people, text them, message them on Whatsapp, meet them in person (maybe not as easily these days) It's not like leaving Facebook turns you into a hermit. If it does, then maybe it's time to find a new group of friends.

Sure other platforms have similar features, but nothing with the entire combination (groups, events, messaging, marketplace) that makes facebook so lethal. They actually don't delete the account. The account may remain forever deactivated, with your personal data intact, but you stripped from your right to access it, or request its deletion. There are several reports about people logging in after a year and seeing the same message as the day they were banned from Facebook.
