Linking Realities | Mid/Senior Back-End Software Enineer | Barcelona or Europe Remote | https://linkingrealities.com/

At Linking Realities, we offer an API that allows our users to generate their own 3D avatars from 2D selfies with low poly count that can be used in multiuser platforms. For this role, we are looking for a talented engineer that can help us continue improving this API to meet the requirements of our users.

Its main functionality is to generate 3D avatars using a set of 3D tools and to manage the data access layer so the avatars can be stored and retrieved. It’s written in Python using the FastAPI framework, and the avatars are stored in our cloud provider object store.

Our immediate objectives are improving the API so it can scale (e.g. offloading the generation of the avatars to a pool of workers), making the architecture more secure and robust and work on other integrations.

In addition, although not direct responsibilities of this position, we are also working on improving the avatar generation process to generate other types of avatars. This involves applying computer vision techniques, based on AI models, to parse the user selfie and extract features that allow us to generate avatars with different styles, plus the usage of 3D tools to build the full-bodied avatar. Working on the API will be tightly coupled to the avatar generation, so there will be opportunities to collaborate with this process.
