I guess it's like guitars and bikes, a small group will "need" a new one/another one (guilty of both), but for most people you either need zero or you need one and never need to swap once you have one. For the sake of our society, I really hope most gun owners don't need to replace stolen guns as often as bike owners have to replace stolen bikes.

The car I [try not to] drive (a Škoda Rapid liftback) fits four 180 cm (5'10") adults and their baggage for a week, yet I could almost drive UNDERNEATH some of the crap I have to share the roads with (LR Discovery, F-150, BMW X8). I used to love cars and driving, now they disgust me, along with the whole my-car-is-my-identity culture.

I live in fly-over country, and cars, pretty much all of them, are monstrously large now. I notice the change, even to 15-20 years ago. Just as a small example; the physical experience of just being in a parking lot now, it's gotten really foul. The rooflines of cars parked on the street now block the view outside my local coffee shop. Not sure if this is real, but there seems more of that casual sociopathic driving (weaving in an out of traffic, texting, tailgating, ...). I'm not exaggerating, any given day and I likely see, with my own eyes, the aftermath of a wreck.
It's absolutely insane to me. It's a true saying; "things can always get worse". I feel like we're finding that out now. The public realm is just worse. Straight up. Worse. More deadly, violent, unwelcoming. And it's cars. The only concrete thing really. Big, fast going cars. Slow them down, have them smaller. And immediately, almost from day one, life outside is better.

This is not projection, it's a core truth. Many americans have reified independence into an extremely specific material _thing_. Big cars. Even if not all, then still enough to hold everybody else hostage.

I didn't really get handgun culture (I'm in the UK, everyone has rifles and shotguns, handguns aren't a thing any more since we had a school shooting in the 90ss) until I read an exchange on Reddit which was full of comments like "Ah yeah but what you do is you unscrew that top part, drill and tap it a size larger, and then you can bolt on which allows you to mount and by taking a bit off the grips it'll actually be…

Small nit: ‘double parking’ does not mean ‘parking in two parking spaces’. It generally means parallel parking next to a car that is already parallel parked - ie, parking roadside in a second row alongside a first row of parked cars. More generally it refers to doubling up two cars in a parking space in such a way that one car blocks the other in (eg parking two cars nose to tail in a long parking bay)
At least in my region, the phrase is used about evenly to refer to both:
- Parking in the roadway next to the row of parallel parked cars/in other ways such that parked cars are blocked in
and
- Parking a single car such that two parking spots are obstructed (unjustifiably so, e.g. nobody would likely talk that way about an RV taking two parallel parking spots).
The difference in usage seems to depend on whether you (and your local cohort) spend more of your time parking in parking lots or on the street.

#119No Toyota Tacoma…probably the most popular truck in many US states. No Ram trucks. No Subaru WRX, nor BRZ. Really neat concept, but I wish it had more US vehicles.
Dodge Ram is about the same as a small or mid-size Ford Transit, so you could pick one of those.
"Dodge Ram" hasn't been a thing since 2010, when they spit Ram out to be a separate brand. However the site does have a 2010-2019 (a.k.a 4th generation Ram) listed under the Dodge brand, which is technically fair, because the initial units of the 4th generation were Dodge branded.
However to add the 5th generation they would really need to split it out as a sperate brand to be correct, and if they do so, they should duplicate the 4th generation into the new brand.

Double parking is a legal term for a specific traffic violation.
People who use it to refer to parking across two bays in a parking lot are using it wrong.
It’s like saying ‘well people in my region use the word “speeding” both to refer to going over the speed limit, and for going through a red light’.
People in your region have heard a term and misunderstood it.
Laws commonly include exceptions like;
> Vehicles used ordinarily for transportation of merchandise may double park for the purpose of, but only while engaged in, the expeditious loading or unloading
- that doesn’t mean delivery vehicles can park across two bays in a parking lot.
