> Do Russian citizens not deserve to make an honest living? Do Ukrainian citizens not deserve a life free of a war of aggression caused by Russia's invasion? Sanctions are mild inconvenience for Russian citizens compared to what Russia's government is imposing to the Ukrainian citizens. Not that I would defend Paypal though, they are a shitty company. Russian citizens can earn an honest living after Russia leaves Ukr…

This kind of thinking is called collective punishment and ordinarily is discussed as a human rights violation.

Jesus christ a boycott is not collective punishment.

This really sucks, I was interested in getting one of these when they come back into stock for my country. Another notch in the "never use PayPal" belt.

I ordered one just a couple of months ago and received a ship notice a week or two ago. (Delivery expected next week!). It appears they're shipping.

I find this whole thing confusing. PayPal's very name would suggest that it was initially set-up as a way for friends/acquaintances to split a bill or what have you. So why on Earth would a business use it and especially to the tune of $1.3M??? I'm not very techie so don't all scream at once, but why wouldn't a company use whatever local {Business Bank} is closest to them that has an actual branch??? Something like Fifth Third, M&T or whatever that has an actual SMB component?? I know Wells Fargo can no longer be trusted either, but surely the B2B banking space isn't as bad as the Retail side? Paypal didn't have a separate biz focus until after they hooked up with Ebay, correct? So that would suggest to me that the "holes" in their offering on the business side is very much "caveat emptor?" Or am I missing some essential part of the argument???

I am having vivid flashbacks from my fights with PayPal. I would rather have account at random American bank and going personally to bank to make SEPA payments than ever expose myself to PayPal.

You will have a hard time making SEPA payments from a US bank. Perhaps you meant SWIFT wire payments?

That said, [Transfer]Wise (which is not legally a bank) will assign you American banking details and you _can_ send SEPA payments from there.

I’ve had a horrible experience with Paypal in the past and I harbor an unnatural hatred for the company. Granted with the size of the customer base most people will be fine, but once Paypal soft lock the account Flipper Zero should have immediately removed the ability to pay via PayPal to limit the damage.

Always limit your exposure and never keeping any amount of money with Paypal that you’re not prepared to lose in the worst case scenario, because Paypal is accountable to no one.
