This site is a fucking joke. It doesn't foster discussion, rather it fosters "allowed" discussion. Things that will make the Y-combinator folks more money because that is all they value. Tech is just a means to an end. And these notions of "site guidelines" seem to not apply at all to Elon's folks!

I believe the mods have integrity based on their past comments, but the silent disabling of various user features is highly questionable at best. I'm pretty sure my flagging/vouching/possibly voting privileges got silently revoked at some point, but I'm not going to ask about it because it'll only piss me off. (And no, I'm not going to "improve my behavior" to fit some arbitrary Overton window given, you know, everything.)

In a lot of ways I feel the discourse that he means a nuclear attack buries the lede. This is not likely to happen. What is more likely to happen is just as bad. Devastating civil infrastructure would put 10s of millions of lives at risk. And even if one were to look at this from a myopic USA centric lens, has anyone considered how many of these people we were told needed liberation are now radicalized against us?

What consequence would he suffer if he attack nuclearly vs everything it's done so far ?

the marginal cost for him is unfortunately not that high at this point

It's wrong to even frame this as a partisan question. When the leader of a democratic country threatens a nation of 90 million people with genocide, that should be the end of that government on that same day. Where is the entire US population? You hear nothing but crickets, what an utterly passive, terminally ill society.

Better question: why should I risk jail time or worse to protect a foreign nation halfway around the globe that largely despises me?
