I’m not sure I’m comfortable drawing such a conclusion.

There have been outages since time immemorial. And there were no LLMs then and we have no evidence that they are using LLMs necessarily or that this was caused by an LLM or even that this is not just a free occurrence.

I’m all on the AI hate train, but I think being correct and drawing correct conclusions based on evidence is more important

Is it bias, or are outages genuinely becoming more common? If the latter, why?

The twitter fail whale was a thing a decade ago now. I don't think outages are more common as such, but we pay more attention to them since we live in mobile phones nowadays. There has been a lot of contralization of web servers into 3rd party CDNs like Akamai and Cloudflare, probably more than is truly needed by smaller actors who instead just need to fix their crappy DB access patterns and rid themselves of all the…
