It is kind of funny to me that the lede is about Palontir instead of the absolutely stunning call by a Republican for the DoD to reduce budget by 8%.
Questionably reformed alcoholic day drinker with zero experience of anything approaching the budget scale and manpower of the DoD "Defense Secretary" if you really want to accurately put the screws in and add context.

I don’t trust republicans in Congress to actually do it. But it could be a historic opportunity for democrats to call their bluff and support the cuts. A once in a century opportunity to end the age of American empire and reorient America for the inevitable multipolar future.
This shows how naive and unprepared the market and general public in the US is for blatant political corruption. This is a Thiel company. The administration will double down on Palantir because their cofounder and chair helped fund the current administration's election. Just like how they will benefit Musk's companies.

Errr, I think the market has priced in an awful lot of corruption. PLTR closed at $41.41 on November 4th (day before election), and after its 10% drop today, it closed at $112.06. The market might be saying that even with the corruption, if the total pie shrinks by enough, it hurts the company. I mean, in the sense that the "market" says anything at all.

The factions that favor globalism seem to also favor American military empire (to keep the trade routes safe or whatever, I don’t know). I don’t trust republicans in Congress to actually do it. Americans benefit a lot from being the world superpower, a lot more than they know, in ways that aren't apparent until they're gone. In 10 years it will be obvious what a mistake it was to intentionally renounce this position.
