He did his job. He has little control over the various levers that were available to be pulled to slow the process down to the point that justice was not only delayed, but denied. Had Garland proceeded with the appropriate amount of haste justice may have been better served, and provided the populace valuable information about the individual they decided to elect.

Trump's still going to go after Smith. I doubt any amount of ring kissing will save him. This will have a side effect of first enraging, and the disillusioning anybody who legitimately thought a Trump prosecution was necessary.
