I'm a non-native English speaker, but shouldn't that read superior to , and I think you need a space after a comma. I read about this display on many news sources, why link from a site that doesn't even proofread the title?!
DPI is the new megapixel count.
Is it just me or is this "article" just a rehashed press release?
As bigger screens become the norm for new smartphones, I wonder if we will see a 5" iPhone 5.

Do we need 440ppi displays? At this level, does improving the PPI make any difference at all to human eyes?

That's not important, the important thing is that numbers have to be higher than Apple's, whatever it takes.
