> There's a name for individuals who demand to speak to the manager at the slightest provocation. I don't think that's fair here. Microsoft should not require a Microsoft Account to use Windows. But I as an individual cannot change Microsoft's position. I'm not saying Elon can either, but I suspect his feedback will carry more weight.
Others might be thankful that someone with access brought attention to this issue for many people at a higher level. Sure you can bypass this with a few buttons and a string, but is that really a good user experience? Maybe difficult to not bring personality bias into the situation and see the action itself as good. edit: Ah guess the top level comment is gone now...

Yeah, right? How is this not hypocritical given the post-Musk implementation of requiring an account to view tweets?
If Musk wants to paywall all Twitter content, or heck, rebrand it into a StarWars fan club, who cares? Not I. But I care about my computer.

It’s a rather different scenario. You bought the laptop, you own it. That used to mean something. If Musk wants to paywall all Twitter content, or heck, rebrand it into a StarWars fan club, who cares? Not I. But I care about my computer.
You did not buy the software, you only get a license, and that comes with it's own terms.
