Which comments are you talking about? At the time of writing, there are two comments in this thread, including yours, and none are islamophobic.

Which comments are you talking about? At the time of writing, there are two comments in this thread, including yours, and none are islamophobic.

The ones I downvoted are now dead, you have to turn on “showdead” to see them.

Etymology is interesting stuff for sure, but I'm pretty sure that "Islamophobia" is a well-established term: it was first included in the OED in 1923.

The Uyghurs are not Shiites.

To be fair, a lot of Muslim countries, Shiite or Sunni, do not care for the Uighur plight. Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, etc. are all happy to take Chinese money.
