It was first reported here on Twitter ( https://twitter.com/lucy_guo/status/1643451123230031872 ) -- I'm friends with a bunch of people at MobileCoin where he was working and unfortunately it is true. I only met Bob once but he was a great man. (Trying to just be sad about his loss and not angry at what San Francisco has become, but it's hard.)

Tragic.

From tweets it appears that he had moved to Miami, came back to SF on a work trip for a day - and this happened.

I would be shocked if it were anything but random/senseless (or opportunistic robbery), happening on the street at 0230 in SoMA. This police request for information appears to be related. https://twitter.com/sfvas/status/1643328384234315777
