If the idea was to throw money at these allegations until they go away, Musk could have just paid her $250 million to shut up, and he’d still be getting a deal. Not to mention that taking a suitcase of cash to a parking garage is probably simpler than hitting up Morgan Stanley for $20 billion.
And honestly I don’t think Musk cares enough about sexual assault allegations to put that much effort into trying to avoid them.

So he’s either paying for a $43 billion distraction or a $1 billion distraction, depending on whether or not he actually wants to own Twitter…? This is a problem as old as man - men in power enslaved women in the literal sense, now they try with economic bondage. We have seen the Weinstein - layer upon layer of entrapment and coercion with people of wealth and power - Gates as well as UK Royals. Huge efforts to hide/cover - the apparent murder of Weinstein in a supposedly safe cell? All this as result of hidden social circles. sex, influence, with aging men…
