The money should first go to Ottawa residents besieged and subjected to 24 hour honking, diesel fumes and noise from engines running through the night. Then there's revenue loss for the businesses forced to shut down and wage loss for their employees. Class Action Suit could rightfully clean out the GoFundMe.

Are you being serious?

It surprises me to see GoFundMe bow to political pressure, when the platform is designed to fund people that are standing up against governments.

this is not the first time we've seen this happen in the past few years so at this point it's kind of baffling why any kind of political dissent even attempts to be funded on GFM. there's so many other avenues that could be used instead, why do people keep trying to use this one for this purpose?

The more and more that banks and other organizations do things like this, the more and more sense crypto makes in general.

I'm fairly ignorant of crypto, but wouldn't exchanges hold similar power?

Peer-to-peer cryptocurrencies do not need intermediates. For governance, one can use smart contracts.

This is why things like ConstituionDAO can happen.

If it’s good or not is another topic, but it is definitely possible to skip banks and other middlemen.
