Which big tech companies have you worked at like this? Surely it’s not a problem to name them if you’re never working there again. Or is this just ranting about hypothetical situations?

#12I hate to say this man, but you work for Block. It's a company founded and led by the guy who made Twitter, which I consider to be one of the worst far-left cancers in this world. You are kind of getting what you pay for here... these Dorsey companies are doubtlessly some of the most authoritarian shitholes around.
I'd urge this not to sour your view on tech. I work for another "big tech" and it is totally reasonable, everyone is just normal. I would encourage you to take some time off, regroup, and apply for some new companies that have as little to do with Dorsey or Social Media as possible. Pro tip - look for orgs run by foreigners, as woke cancer has not spread as badly to other countries yet.

#15Is this "the grass is greener..."? Small(er) companies have politics, they espouse family values ("we are a family, lets rally!"), but it's only a one way street. It's still very much a business relationship, just without the big tech pay. I think you'll find that small tech has issues. Constantly in Slack. Constantly in emails. Constantly expected to believe the exact same thing and if you don't you're a racist bigot that doesn't deserve life itself.
