I wonder if this is really more of an easy way to downsize their workforce without having to deal with severance. They did it once before with their "back to the lab" initiative, where remote employees were terminated if they didn't return to a physical office.

#12They probably determined that their older workers were more likely to refuse the vaccine. Another way to discriminate against a protected class.

#13I am vaccinated but I might change jobs if my employer thinks he can make health decisions for me. You don't want this to even start. It seems government and society in the anglospere are a bit overwhelmed. And suspended for how long exactly?

I would guuess until they get their shots. I had a friend who had Covid three times last year. Claimed he didn't need the vaccine. Died this year of the delta variant.
What test did they use to diagnose the delta variant?
