Not for much of the country, including London. Source: living in (what was at the time) a tier 4 area The issue is the new strain, clearly. Cases were growing even during the November lockdown.
Growing in the southeast from memory but the rest of the country saw pretty strong decreases I think.
Wasn’t Kent the first place things started to really kick off and take a turn in mid Nov?

What’s the status of nightingale? In use or not?
From the article "These would be complemented by 1,000 “step down beds”, some of the supplied by the opening of the capital’s Nightingale hospital," so sounds like it's not in use yet.

#20I believe certain hospitals are already at the stage of queuing ambulances outside and are breaching the four hour wait times. This is a consequence of loosening the lockdown for Christmas.
I remember how tightly locked-down China was at lunar new year not even 365 days ago.
This is a crying shame.
