Describing your intent and aspirations for the project isn't the same as making a promise, but I understand that you might feel an obligation to follow through on anything you say, even if it isn't an explicit commitment. Perhaps just list your plans for the next release/milestone or two?
Next milestone is an ability to publish a manuscript and make it paid. One after it is an author community management tools. Hoping to release both in this year.
So, you might add both of those to the docs, perhaps as a roadmap, with or without the timeframe.
