99.9% would have been more precise, which aligns well with the current numbers.
The term "survival rate" applies to the infected, not the entire population. When a plane wipes out against a mountain in the Andes, you don't use the population of the entire country to claim that the survival rate of the crash was high, you count only the people who were actually in the plane. So 209,454 deaths suggests a 96% survival rate[0], based on our current information. Perhaps more to the point, since human…

#14This post has been flagged. Flagging a fairly innocuous interview with Richard Stallman seems like an abuse of the privilege. At the very least, flagging should require a short statement explaining the basis for the action.
That quote is made up.

Survival rate = 1-Ifr. Ifr is ~0.1% so 99.9% is right. There were no 200k corona deaths in the US.
I actually think the number is a bit higher, since not all deaths triggered by COVID-19 are necessarily reported with COVID-19 as a comorbidity[0]. But there are certainly not fewer!

How is that even relevant? Can't readers make their own determination as to the credibility of an interviewees responses? This is utterly ridiculous and abusive.

"If you look at children, children are almost, I would almost say definitely, but almost immune from this disease. So few. Hard to believe. I don't know how you feel about it but they have much stronger immune systems than we do somehow for this. They don't have a problem."

It's clear from the video that that wasn't intended as direct quote. I think it's a fair summary of this actual quote. "If you look at children, children are almost, I would almost say definitely, but almost immune from this disease. So few. Hard to believe. I don't know how you feel about it but they have much stronger immune systems than we do somehow for this. They don't have a problem." https://youtu.be/4kberLzSv…
